Georgia has been on my mind a lot recently. Savannah, Georgia, to be specific.
Drew & I traveled To Savannah and Tybee Island at a pivotal time in my life. I had just graduated from college, switched jobs, moved, and my dad was involved in a car accident which made me want to cancel the whole trip. After much encouragement from my dad and the rest of my family to continue to go, I found Savannah to be one of the most charming cities I have ever visited.
I was inspired to visit Savannah, Georgia after researching a package design project for school. I was so enamored when I read about the town and Savannah School of Art + Design that I told Drew, “I’m either going to love this town so much or I’m going to hate it because I’ve built it up so much in my head”. Luckily, Savannah did not disappoint.
Here are some of the highlights if you are planning on visiting:
- SCAD | Take a campus tour!
- Gryphon Tea Room | Get the peach tea.
- River Street | Great for antique shopping and view of the Savannah River. We visited the Moon River Brewing Company.
- Captain Mike’s Dolphin Tours | Go on the way to Tybee Island. Watch dolphins and enjoy the scenery.
- Uncle Bubba’s Oyster House | Also on the way to Tybee Island. Drew was a fan of the Shrimp & Grits. We also saw Paula Dean and her husband here. They were celebrating their grandson’s birthday.
